admin: You should address the State Archives of the Russian Federation (garf@online.ru, rosarhiv@archives.ru, tel +7 (495) 245-8141б 606-35-31). There you will be directed to the appropriate local archive (charges may apply). Please note that many people who emigrated to Britain from the Russian Empire in XIX century should be considered as born not in the territory of the modern Russian Federation, but in the Ukraine, Belarus, Baltic countries or Poland.
